works for me. very nice app. well done TVNZ.

Shame Airplay doesn't work (presumably for DRM/studio reasons beyond their control), but other than that very impressed.

(makes sky's announcement that iSky will be coming only to MySky boxes in the next year or so look even more pathetic)

What makes you think iSky for iOS isn't well underway? ;)

it may well be,  but sky won't want to launch it without some heavy restrictions because it will cost them a lot of multi-room revenue I would say.

(plus the fact that they have announced it will be on MySky, but have made no such announcement about iOS suggests that the iOS app is further away than the MySky app, and that is about 12 months away or more)

Works fine for me, although for some shows it comes up with, this video is not available for your device. Has also crashed a few times, but you get that with quite a few NZ apps. The video is also quite low resolution, but is fine on an ipad 2. Probably looks bad on a retina display though.

Yep, good on my ipad 1. Well done TVNZ.

Having dropped MySky last year, this will save on a PVR and a second TV I was contemplating buying.

Still no Android version :( Presumably that's because of Android fragmentation, but still... :(

I would suggest getting a backup of the tvnz app with the ipad 1, as IOS is no longer being updated for it. I have in the past had problems on my old iphone where I did an update on an app, and the new version wasn't compatible with the old version of IOS on my phone, and I didn't have an older version of the app to restore to it. At some stage in the future I would expect the ondemand app would cease supporting IOS 5, which is all the ipad 1 can go up to.

They don't have a 'one news' android app either, which has been out very a very long time. So I doubt there will be an android app, at least not in the near future.
But you can still view ondemand via your phones stock webbrowser with the flash plugin, which is higher quality anyway.

The tablet format seems much better for finding/browsing shows and then controlling their play.

What would be nice, on occasion, is to select the show on the tablet then flick it to a TV. I assume that's what AirPlay could provide.

Interesting comments about flash crashing in Android mobile browsers - I've not had crashes since the S2. Regarding flash not being pre - installed on Android devices now: not wholly true, HTC still have it installed and it works fine.

The issue was having seems to be caused by using the unblock-us DNS servers. Inputting the Snap servers manually in my iPad solved the problem. Maybe I'll flick unblock-us a message.

It would seem that it doesn't work on Jailbroken devices (Can anyone else test this for me?)

I have checked on both an iPad 2 and iPhone 4S (Jailbroken on iOS 6.1) and both will not load videos.

Installing xCon off cydia to bypass apps checking for a jailbreak fixes the issue, looking through the code the app does call to check if the device is jailbroken.. I can understand to somepoint as jailbreaking can allow airplay without being restricted but unfair on people like me who use jailbreaks to add themes/tweaks ect for legit reasons

I had this problem on telecom as well.  Set the DNS back to telecoms solves the problem.

It's strange that a browser works however....

Unfortunately Unblock-US say the only solution is not to use their DNS for accessing this app.

I use a gargoyle router - that uses dnsmasq.

I just hacked together some entries that when using the tvnz app, use my existing ISPs DNS nameserver
