For anyone who bets,
Trackside will be leaving Freeview in favour of Sky + Online Streaming only
It will be moving from Trackside+Tab channels to Trackside 1 and Trackside 2

Since most motels/hotels currently offer trackside as a channel I doubt they will pay for another satellite decoder to show trackside so they may lose out on viewers

As part of planned improvements to the content of the two TAB racing channels, Trackside will be moved off Freeview and onto SKY from 14 April 2014.

This will allow us to broadcast new and improved racing content for your viewing pleasure - including magazine-style features, extended pre and post-race coverage for feature events, and additional races which are not currently shown on television.

For TAB customers who do not have SKY, we are offering a special deal - free installation of a satellite dish and SKY digital decoder and a free SKY package valued at $18.70 per month. This SKY package gives you access to the free-to-air channels and the two racing channels. The package is free until 31 December 2014 to TAB customers who watch Trackside via Freeview and who do not presently subscribe to SKY.

Customers who already have SKY and use the second household TV to watch Trackside on Freeview are eligible for a standard installation of a second Multiroom decoder for no charge and three months free Multiroom*.

It will be replaced with another shopping channel or another +1 channel

Isn't Trackside on 12671 H - one of the Sky Transponders, not Freeview?

There's supposed to be another terrestrial mux starting up in the next few months, but I have no idea whether it'll have anything decent on it.

How many tens of millions of tax payer dollars were spent on creating new TV channels for the freeview platform for TVNZ, and now most have gone. I heard the cost was about 80 million, which doesn't appear ot have been money well spent. You once had Kidszone, 7, 6, U, TVNZ sprts etc. Some have gone to skytv, and sky are also playing alot of taxpayer funded content via heartland. Trackside isn't one of them, but it will be a loss to some. There are some new fringe channels, but you don't know how long they will be around for, and we don't need anymore shopping channels.

Well its no surprise really when it costs money to host a channel on freeview but sky will pay you to have a channel with them

Not on freeview satellite as trackside is transmitted via a Sky TV transponder.

Huh? DVB-S is the platform - they're not on it, only DVB-T.
