Hi , I just moved from the Netherlands to New Zealand and I brought with me  a set-box for terrestrial digital tv but I havent had any sucess to install it . Does anyone know if the dutch system is compatible with the new zealander one ? I know that the british isnt but the british and the dutch are different . Should I try to update the receiver's firmware to get things working ? if yes , does anyone know a place for it ?
                                         thanks

No it is not compatible. Use it as a doorstop.

Hi, the Netherlands formally launched their DVB-T service in 2003, this was well before any mpeg4 codecs were implemented in DVB devices, therefore I presume the Dutch service is mpeg2 which is not used in NZ. Therefore you have shipped a great door stop.

Cheers
Cyril

Put it on Trademe for $1 reserve.

State clearly that "I cant get it going in NZ, I think its incompatible with Freeview"

Someone will still buy it for a reasonable price - I guarantee it!
