Hi Guys,

I'm very upset my Iphone4 got stolen, only bought it 3 months ago and paid the full price for it from the Apple store in New Market so i can use it with my 2degrees account.

Yes i didnt have the locate me application but I have the receipt of purchase, the IMEI number and a police report.

After speaking with 2degrees i am very disappointed they are unable to block my IMEI number off. I went to vodafone and telecom and they both agreed to black list my phone.

After all this phone was mainly used on a 2degrees network why cant they follow suit or have a shared DB for stolen IMEI's. this really sucks :(

Is there anything i can do to screw up the thieves?

At present we do not have an EIR and are unable to block it. With a warrant we can probably provide some location information to police.

iPad Air + iPhone SE + 2degrees 4tw!

These comments are my own and do not represent the opinions of 2degrees.

DUDE! Epic fail on not setting up the location service for it.

I imagine it could still be located with the assistance of the service provider if the phone is being used, but it would be a lot of work (=cost) for all involved, and I doubt the Police would class it as high priority.

Claim insurance if you can and move on from a hard lesson learnt IMO.

I can not believe you had an iPhone 4 for 3 months and you never bothered setting up the Locate Me service. That was one of the first things I did as soon as I got mine! Really sucks about 2Degrees not setting up an IMEI block however.

Yeah, that was pretty trollish sorry and I suppose I don’t have enough of a presence here to joke with people yet. I didn’t mean to detract from pain of losing a technological arm. I know how frustrating it must be, the furthest I get from my phone is when its on the dock charging.

For those interested the app I linked to – Plan B – allows you to install and track your phone AFTER it has been stolen or lost. Fantastic Android app.
