Hi all,

It's the time of the year where I must find an industry project to do for my final semester in order to complete my Bachelor of Information and Communication Technology.

Requirements of the project include sufficient complexity with minimum of 450 hours development time and a challenge due to being pushed outside of our comfort zone.

The project must begin at the end of July and finish by the end of November.

If any company (or person) requires some custom built software, or any custom development work, and wouldn't mind a final year student developing it for them then send me a message with details regarding the project and contact information. You can also email me at charsleysa "at" gmail "dot" com.

As it is required to meet with the sponsor (representative initiating the project) it would be preferable if they were located in Palmerston North.

Attached is a copy of the information letter.

Regards
Stefan Andres Charsley

Programming is generally the easy part. The hard part is project drivers, business requirements, architecture and integration, those all require business knowledge and a lot of interaction with BAs, architects, etc. Are you wanting a programming project or a development project?

A smaller company is probably a better bet than a large government department.

Programming is preferred as that is my strong area, but during the course of the bachelor we also cover systems analysis, user support, networking, database design. Business requirements and interaction with clients is part of the systems analysis classes.

Ah yes, I took similar classes. It's more complex than they make out, you don't even get to do that stuff until you have 5-10 years experience usually.
