So I have the site Bix.nz

I want to add a vanilla forum to the site https://talk.bix.nz/

The script has the ability to add pages see menus side links test https://bix.nz/bixmain/pages/3/test

and Forum

What I would like to achive is the forum embedded or "displayed " as part of the site where the test page is.

Here is a screen shot of the place where one creates the "page" in bix.nz

I choose vanilla as i read you could embed it

Here is where I have a problem It doesnt seem to want to "hold" any code that is provided by vanilla

like this shown towards the end here https://docs.vanillaforums.com/help/embedding/

Any help would be appreciated The forum needs to be opensourced other than that how it ends up in the website i don t care just that it does

Looks like your CMS (Vanilla?) is stripping out the HTML embed code.

Did you “Enabled Embedding”. From doc:

Embedding Checklist

  1. Choose the embed friendly theme. This theme has minimal padding around it and will look good at any width. (Make modifications in Customize theme as you like).
  2. Ensure you have “Enabled Embedding” in your dashboard.
  3. Make sure that the page in which you embed is free of javascript errors.

Otherwise, you could add the embed code directly to the theme file?

Regards

Scott

Thank you for the comments

When I checked I did not have enabled embedding, so i did.

I added code

it striped out

<script type="text/javascript" src="https://talk.bix.nz/js/embed.js"></script>

i did manage to get the ugly iframe working

but i know thats not kosher

Off the top of my head, I'm not sure if you can add javascript links. i.e security reasons. That should be put in the head section of the theme file.
