I've created (or am creating?) a free extension for Google Chrome called Fauxbar, which makes Chrome's New Tab page act like Firefox's Awesome Bar, posing as an alternative to Chrome's Omnibox.
I'm looking for a few beta testers to give this a whirl before I release it to the wild.
It's ready for publishing on the Chrome Web Store; I just have to flick a switch. But right now, it's only available to select testers; I have to manually add email addresses to a list.
Screenshots, feature descriptions and documentation can be found @ http://code.google.com/p/fauxbar/
Keep in mind that the download link there won't work if I haven't added you to the tester list.
It is stable, at least for me! I've been using it for a couple of months solidly, and just have been adding finishing polish here and there. At this point, I'm largely looking for general feedback and suggestions. I don't expect any major bugs to crop up, but that is what testing's for :)
If you're keen to try this, please PM me your email address (that is associated with a Google account) so I can add you. And please, ask any questions about it here. Cheers.
