I realise this is a broad question, but I am looking for recommendations for a company / individual that can do the following:

Web Development, with specific knowledge of Moodle, and customisation of it
Someone that is able to set up / manage a server on the web running moodle, and keep it secure, and provide support.

I realise this is vagueish so if you have any other questions maybe I can narrow things down a little.

Thanks!

Try Catalyst IT in Wellington. They are the biggest Moodle development company in the country.

Thanks Heavenlywild. I did look into them, however their costs are totally prohibitive at this point.

Anyone else?

Not really, unless if you look overseas. Catalyst IT isn't cheap, you are right.

Have you considered other LMS's (Learning Management Systems)?

Moodle is not insurmountable to set up. If you have a bit of time you could have a go yourself? I set it up for a client some time ago and didn't strike too many issues. It was integrated into the Joomla site I built for them.

It was a bit of a shame it never really got used as the person driving it left the organisation shortly afterwards.

Cheers, Matt.

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

Thanks for that... I am thinking that is the way I am leaning with it.....

Unfortunately for various reasons I can't use a different LMS
