I ordered a 16GB Nexus 7 (2013) from Amazon yesterday, sending via youshop, hopefully it gets here before the 8th, heading down to Wellington for Beervana!

I not sure I need one but I ordered one from Staples since they had a $30 off coupon for any tablets expiring tomorrow (Sunday US time).

There were out of stock online for the 16GB model but I found a store near where my daughter lives in the Bay Area and reserved the last one for her to pick up! (After all what's the point of having daughters in the US if you can't get them to run errands for you!).

Will pick it up in 2 weeks over there and decide if I will keep it or not. I think I would prefer a 10" tablet but the N7 looks pretty nice capability wise.

Staying in Wellington. Check out my AirBnB in the Wellington CBD.  https://www.airbnb.co.nz/h/wellycbd  PM me and mention GZ to get a 15% discount and no AirBnB charges.

Anyone going up to the US in the next couple of weeks/months? If so would you consider bringing me back one of these? (Yes I know I can use youshop etc)

Well that was a washout. Even though I had confirmation a unit was reserved when my daughter called to check before hiking up there, it was sold. And then they would not honour the coupon either saying it excluded the Nexus 7 (Gen 2).

I guess I will play with one over there before deciding.

Shipping to Oregon saves on the high California sales tax.

Interesting.

I was originally a bit confused as to why it would take 2-3 days, then I looked on Google Maps and see it is basically a cross-country trip from Kentucky to Oregon - a 6 hour flight.

UPS Tracker is pretty good - currently sitting in Illinois.

Don't forget it takes youshop 1-2 days to acknowledge they have your package, and then another 1-2 days to ship the damn thing :|

So how much total is it to get a Nexus 7 II 16Gb shipped here?

It isn't that hard to figure out.

Tablet = NZ$269.99 for 32gb. use x-rates.com to figure out exchange rate.
Shipping to Youshop is free
Youshop is roughly 20-30 dollars.

I just used my Linode as a proxy to order from the play store, paid with my ASB Visa Debit also :) Grabbed the 16gb version + a Chromecast because I could.

I just order my 32gb Nexus 7 (2nd gen) from the Google Play Store and shipping it to the Youshop address.

I got around the IP address blocking by using my Canadian VPN.

I'm pretty satisfied with the price. $342.24 NZD, Google Wallet don't rip you off by gouging you 2 cent like Paypal

269.99/342.24 = 0.7885 exchange rate

Guess I'm safe enough to be under the the $400 limit so I don't get charged for GST and Duties.
Now to look for a Nexus 7 (2nd gen) case. The Moko one on amazon looks good, too bad I was too late for their 99 cent (USD) special.
