I am thinking of going naked but I dont want to carry my cellphone with me at all times when i am home, e.g it might be on the charger.

However I cant hear my Cellphone at the far end of the house.

While I have come across cordless phone base stations that bluetooth to the cellphone so it can be heard from afar, I was wondering if there is another simpler device I could use, e.g. a loud speaker that will turn on when i receive a call or better still the ability to have multiple speakers in different locations ?

best solution I can think of is a bluetooth speaker, have it paired so the phone automatically connects when in range.  Or just, idk, have it with you...

Or if you want to go hard-core, build a small asterisk box and set this up:

From the far end of your house, can you make it back to the phone in time to answer it?

Life is too short to remove USB safely.

I increased my voicemail delay to 30 seconds for just that reason... so that's an option if the default (20?) isn't enough.

Another option may be to get a (perhaps s/h?) cordless phone with Bluetooth. We have a Panasonic triple handset that our mobiles connect to automatically once at home, ensuring that no matter where our mobiles are in the house (including in the external HT, garage etc) we're still able to hear and take calls (also can be notified of texts, but that's a bit annoying!). We can also make calls on the mobiles using a cordless handset.

While we've got a landline as well, my understanding is such phones will work fine just connected to mobiles. Perhaps not the cheapest solution, but a fairly comprehensive one. Note: caller ID is transferred from the mobile, so I know when not to pick up for my MIL...

Of course you don't want to carry your cellphone all the time if you're going naked. I mean, you won't have any pockets so where are you going to put it?

But seriously... something like this?

Thx a lot.
Yeah, I was looking at Panasonic handset after seeing similar functions on USA handset. It looks pick of bunch esp with second hand set

And yeah, that house is to big to even hear my cell at other end let along try to get to it before it clicks to answer phone.

I like the look of the renny but pref a physical base unit. FYI, I could carry a cell naked. At my age I don't need pockets, my belly button would do. :-)
