The Canadians are getting a free 43" 4k LG TV when pre-ordering their LGG7's.

NikT - any word on whether PBTech will have any bundles?  Does it release here on 1 June as well?

Lol that will never happen here! Samsung have been known to give out 32" 1080p TVs frequently, that's the usual benchmark here.

Watch this space. More as soon as I can. Won't be that early though. :)

32" 720p TVs. The bundle no-one wanted is back for the nth time! Yeah.

NZ is now in a much better space for compelling bonus bundles than it was, ooh, about three years ago. Funny that.

V30 is a phenomenal phone. Exceptional battery life, excellent performance, and one of the best-looking devices ever made IMO. Front camera isn't the best, but can produce great results in good lighting. Given how far down the list of features the front camera ranks for my personal and work use, I am unbothered.

The v20 was an exceptional phone, without a second screen, the v30 could be at best an ok phone :)

2 years after selling my v20 I STILL miss that second screen.

I'm still loving my V20. It's not perfect but it's a great phone and hard to give up.

What I wish for in NZ is the BOGO free deals like they do in the US. I'd have bought a couple V30's if that had happened over here.

G7 looks nice but the changes to the camera hardware seem like a step forward and step backward at the same time. Reducing the size of the wide angle lens to 107 degrees is meh. I'm sure it's still good but I think the V30 iteration was better at 120 degrees.

I'm not phased about the change in wide-angle. My G5 always had a lot of fishbowl effect - hopefully this is reduced with the change in the G7.

You're right.  I think in the US the V10 or the G5 had a 200gb microSD, which at the time went for about $300.  PB Tech has been having some pretty good deals lately thought - I've been very tempted by the $500 Sennheiser headphones offered with the P20.  I am eagerly awaiting what they can offer us with the G7 (hopefully very soon!)

Yeah I love the idea of BOGO. I keep a very close eye on what's happening with bonus/pre-order offers globally and try to build globally market-leading bundles - we can get away with it in NZ due to the relatively small scale. At the very least, I try to build offers I'd buy myself. The V30, P20, and Executive Bundles (buy a phone, get a chair!) are good examples.

Unfortunately BOGO is a no-go because it fundamentally requires a telco service/interest free plan be leveraged, there just isn't the margin in phones to do buy one get one free outright.

Stay tuned for G7. Don't want to spoil the surprise, but I'm pretty excited.

Not far now! Register your interest here.

FWIW I have been daily driving a G7 for a few weeks, switched to the OP6 for two days of testing, and promptly went back to the G7. OP6 is fine but LG put some serious QOL features in their software stack.

Now in stock in a few places, including Parallel Imported for a tad over $1100. It's a little bit cheaper at Becextech, but I have no experience dealing with them.  Does anyone have anything nice/bad to say about them?

The 7+ variant is only an extra $80 odd to double storage from 64 to 128gb, and increase ram from 4 to 6gb.  For an extra $80 that seems a no brainier for me.

I suggest you google that company and read for yourself, including searching here on GZ.

I wouldn’t touch them with a proverbial barge pole. Indeed, I’d avoid any dropshipper without a physical NZ presence, let alone with a poor reputation.

If you can’t assure this, including assurance of CGA coverage (and weren’t they the ones claiming the CGA doesn’t apply to them as they’re based in HK?) then you may as well buy off any overseas site.

Awesome, thanks NickT.  Looking forward to 6 July.  Are you going to stock the 7+ version?

A free 43" 1080p LG Smart TV is pretty sweet, but I know the MRS wont let another TV in the house... smile  Are there going to be any other bundles?

Nah, just the regular flavour version available from LG ANZ. I'm sure we can come up with something else once we're out of TVs, eh? :)
