Awesome, thanks NickT.  Looking forward to 6 July.  Are you going to stock the 7+ version?

A free 43" 1080p LG Smart TV is pretty sweet, but I know the MRS wont let another TV in the house... smile  Are there going to be any other bundles?

Nah, just the regular flavour version available from LG ANZ. I'm sure we can come up with something else once we're out of TVs, eh? :)

How about just the phone on it's own for around, I dunno, maybe $900?

Personal view, and a general comment, not a dig at PB: I don't understand bundle deals - giving people things they probably don't need, didn't ask for, but, hey, it's a bargain! I guess this is the consumerist world we now live in.

Just to confirm, does PB's version come with local NZ warranty vs being parallel import?

Fair. Here's the deal with bundles - the phone would not be $900 if it didn't come with a TV. It would be $1199 (or more...) with no TV.

I remember paying $1200 for my Galaxy S II at launch and getting nothing with it. Pre-sale and launch offers in NZ have historically been poor as recently as three years ago despite the high prices. Flagship phones are getting more and more expensive - the S9+ is $1599, the iPhone X is $1799-$2099 - and in all likelihood they're going to keep rising now the super-premium tier is established. Sure, most folks are just going to toss them on a telco plan interest free and never mind that they're the best part of $2k.

I'd rather get the TV, or at least have the option. Competition is good (Hi Sam).

All local stock with 24 month local warranty. We work directly with LG, they're good people.

Hi NikT, what has been your experience with battery life on the G7?

It'll merrily last me a busy workday and into the evening (which is saying something). LG advised they are benchmarking the G7 against the G6 rather than the V-series, and the G7 certainly outperforms the G6, although directly comparing to the V30 is a challenge as the V30 has spectacular battery life. G7 is on par with the smaller S9 from what I've seen. Standby in particular is very good, one long weekend in which I deliberately ignored my phone outside of photos, maps, and a lot of Spotify streaming, it lasted over three days.

Hi NikT,

Looking around reddit about the LG G7 Thinq, a lot of them seemed to be suffering from the LCD bleed on the bottom screen. Did yours also have them? Was about to pre-order then this backlight screen bleeding concerns me. Sort of the similar backlight screen bleed thingy that happens to surface pro (2017) issue.

Not present on the ~10 units I've handled. Didn't see any of the issues reported on V30 either mind.

After all that I missed out on a pre-order (sold out on-line)!

Any other bundles coming up NickT?

Is the pre-order still available in-store in Hamilton?

So we can still order from stores, that's good.

Do we pay the full price on the pre-order or just a deposit?

Just put your name down and come back in on the 6th to pick up the phone and pay for it then. TVs start shipping out from the 20th.

There were still two TVs available yesterday at Hamilton, but expect they will have gone now. More to come, stay tuned.
