Cheers NickT - got my pre-order in.

I note I had to pay the full amount on pre-order (rather than on pickup, like you suggested earlier) although no big deal, had to pay for it some time I guess!

Are you getting in Screen Protectors?  Didn't see any on your website.

Hey Nik - Any update on timing?  The oneplus 6 is looking tempting...

Not far now! Register your interest here.

FWIW I have been daily driving a G7 for a few weeks, switched to the OP6 for two days of testing, and promptly went back to the G7. OP6 is fine but LG put some serious QOL features in their software stack.

Good arvo NikT and anyone else who's had time on the G7. I picked up the G7 on Thursday from the Welly store and just set it up last night...feels bloody good so far!  I'm wondering though if you have any advice or experienced any problems with the headphone jack please.

It just seems to be incredibly finicky as the slightest nudge and the music cuts. I've tried it with the stock headphones and also with my own but same experience. I think this is going to drive me crazy so just wondering if you've got 2 cents on it please? With some phones, headphone jacks you can sense/feel a slight click when you push headphones in but on the G7 it never really feels like it's secured and subsequently does disconnect very very easily.  On the bus this morning for the road test if you like, I had an incredibly frustrating journey trying to listen to spotify because of this... having to keep reconnecting the headphones and then press play again on the app become pretty annoying.

Thank you and hope it's just a faulty unit!

V.

p.s PM me if you like

Have you tried pushing quite hard?  Mine clicks after being pushed hard.  Quite hard.

Picked up mine on Friday, and this phone is fantastic.  Battery life is awesome, screen and camera fantastic.

One thing I can't seem to find however is Wifi Calling with 2 Degrees.  I know the phone can do it, I know 2 degrees can do it, but I can't find the settings.  I've read some other threads that seem to think 2 degrees need to ask LG to authorise wifi calling on the 2 degrees network.  Can anyone from 2 degrees elaborate?

Yes, I took it in store and they reckon it's just because it's new that it needed pushing in further...i was being to careful and definitely wasn't pushing as hard as needed. They played around and have now broken it in. I now get a definate click!

Cheers!

Phones need very specific per-telco software customisation and testing to support WiFi calling, it's not something that can be universally enabled for all telcos. Won't be happening for the G7 unfortunately, poor LG have enough hoops to jump through with the tyrannical AU telcos, even for open market certification.

Ah, good stuff - just got back to work this morning to test my units with the stock headphones and they all clicked in solidly, so glad to hear it's sorted! The DAC/amp combo really is something special. Anyone picking up the current bundle with Sennheiser Momentum over-ears will be well pleased I reckon.

Hi Nik

I can't find the TV (43LK54) on pbtechs or LG's website. Can you tell me if this TV will connect to a satellite tuner for freeview.

Cheers

How are people finding this phone?

I was compiling a list of things I do most with my phone in an effort to try and narrow down replacement choices and 'listening to music through headphones' was high up the list. I was considering the Note 9 (mainly due to stonking battery) but with no Qualcomm chipset, that means no aptx-HD for use with my B&W headphones and also the G7 has that DAC for wired ones to boot. Additionally the NZ models from PB are dual SIM which is something I would like as well.

It's not a brand I have ever used, nor do I know anyone else who has so just thought I would canvas the users here. My Android comparisons would be Samsung.

Also how are LG for software updates like new Android versions, security patches and so forth?
