Man, I've been humming and hawing over whether to get an S10 to replace my aging iPhone 6s+. But that would mean I lose some functionality between my Apple devices, including my Apple Watch series 4. However, I'm not a fan of how Apple has been treating their customers with the price increases and the constant nickel and diming including the omission of a headphone jack, headphone adaptor or fast charger in the box. But their ecosystem is definitely very nice. So unbelievably torn :(

I shifted to Android from an iPhone 6 when the 7 came out.

I also sold my iPad Pro and bought a Tab S4.

I don't regret either decision, but I'm not giving up my iMac for anything.

Go for it. Get a Android Wear or Galaxy watch to go with the new phone. If you like it then sell the i devices and you will get decent money for them. If you don't like it, and that's unlikely, then you can sell the Android devices. Your will never know until you try. Apple of low on features and high on price these days.

Had a play with the S10 range today at one of those Samsung kiosks. They are nice, the ceramic white is a nice phone! The S10e definitely doesn't feel as premium in the hand as the other two.

Preordered the S10e today. Went with Noel Leeming and it's actually not a bad deal with all the pre-order bonuses and the discount by going to 2degrees on an open term plan. New Zealand gets such a better deal with the S10e compared to the United States where the galaxy buds only come with the S10e and up. First time I've been sort of happy being in New Zealand when it comes to electronics.

Just curious for those that have pulled the trigger and pre-ordered, which model, memory combo and color are you going for?

Personally I'd be choosing between white or green S10+ with 8GB/128GB if the wife gave the green light.

I chose the green S10+ 8GB/128GB. It looks really nice and a bit different.

'Customers in the Netherlands and Belgium are in for a special treat from Samsung. The company is offering a 10 Year Galaxy Edition combo deal, which includes a 12GB/1TB Galaxy S10+ with ceramic back, a 46mm Galaxy Watch, and a pair of the all new Galaxy Buds, for just €1599.'

I agree, you also have to subtract the second hand value of your old phone from the price. When i got my note 9, after all was said and done with the pre order bonus and the boosted trade in value it cost me $550 and i got a power bank and some kick arse headphones. I could have sold the headphones which would have made the whole thing $300. Samsung have to match Apple prices but unlike Apple they special the crap out of it. Note 9 had more specials as it wasn't as big a launch. Pre order deal is generally the best one although that rule wasn't true for the Galaxy s8 for reasons i don't understand.

Yep, I seriously considered moving to an iPhone XS this year as I like it's design and want a smaller phone as don't want to move up to a 6" android which is fast becoming the norm. But I don't like being treated like a chump as a consumer (for example, Apple's refusal to even include a fast charger in the box for a $2,000 phone).

Luckily, the S10e is the same size as the iPhone XS and is very similar in design and spec to the XS so I'm ok this time around for form factor.

S10 green for my partner and S10e black for me. Not overly keen on the black as it looks more purple to me this year, but I prefer it over the white (no green option for the 10e).

I had a demo at Techexpo on Thursday and there were probably 4 things I found interesting:

1) Being able to use your S10 as a conductive charging base.

2) Improved battery management (apparently)

3) Wide angled camera

4) Brighter screen

Whilst they are nice to have features, they aren't ones that other than 4) I'd consider spending money on so I won't be going this route, and will wait for a Fold or something better of it's Ilk, or much more likely, the Note 10.

My Note 9 is pretty much everything I want from a phone. I am unsure if I have ever changed the settings on my camera, I just point and shoot except for panoramic.

As someone who owns the Galaxy watch and plans to get the buds the bi directional wireless charging is already. Like you, i am waiting for the note 10 though.

Number 1 above was one of the reasons I used as an excuse to upgrade. Now that I have had the chance to experiment in store with a couple a covers and my Gear S3 and determined from the Samsung website that I can plug the S10 in and then put the S3 on top of it to charge both, I'm even happier. Having said that the latest Tizen update on the S3 has pretty much doubled its battery life but the S10 means I don't need to carry the bulky S3 charger away with me.

Edit: I agree about the Note though. I believe it is the true flagship for Samsung these days. The S line will feature stuff first, knock the kinks out and then release them in the Note.
Because I don't have money to burn, or a valid business case, there is no way I would be upgrading from the Note 9 to the S10(+).
Though I won't be waiting for the Fold either. Maybe the Fold 3.

Edit edit: I was concerned to read that Samsung may be excluding Google Assistant from the Bixby button remap. That would be a shame but I'll just use it for the camera or music player instead.
