invisibleman18: Sorted with NZ Post. Turned out the all important floor number was left off the delivery address, so it unclear where to deliver it as there is more than one business in the building. Have had the full address corrected and should be redelivered tomorrow. Also ordered a case which should arrive tomorrow so it should all work out for the best in the end to get them both together.

Blimey! That's exactly what happened to me too! I purchased a Spigen case from Ascent and the parcel sat in ChCh depot doing nothing. They only got around to checking it after I asked Ascent for an update, and Ascent asked them. Turned out the street number was not on the parcel at all! It seems the failure is at the CourierPost side then...

Just received the phone and buds. Will be a long day at work now until I can set it up at home tonight!

Most excited about the buds and a decent phone for music at the gym as until now I've still been using an iPod Classic so will be good to ditch the headphone cord. And also for a battery that can last a day as my current phone (Vodafone Smart V8) is at the point where I have to charge it twice a day now. After charging overnight it's already at 44% now with not very extensive use so far today.

Still haven't received anything regarding the free Netflix offer though so will message Vodafone over Facebook to query it.

I expect the buds may take a little getting used to having never used headphones like these. Initially I'll probably keep checking are still there as I'll be paranoid about one falling out and losing it!

S10+ Day 3

Battery life is great. Yesterday I got 24 hours of light usage with a few hours SOT and still had over 50% battery left when I put it on the charger.

Fingerprint reader still sucks. I can get it to work 50/50. My thumb is no go. I got my index finger working consistently last night but today it's 50/50. Even when it works, it is slow enough that I wonder if I should've just use pin unlock. My LG G7 fingerprint reader is so much faster - like touch and instantly unlocked - 100% reliable.

S10+ screen is glorius but then again, the MLCD+ screen on the LG G7 is also very nice (only thing the G7 can't compete with is super black blacks). I still have fear of Samsung oled burn in.

Phone overall is attractive, feels nice, solid. S10+ camera cut out is not too bad. Not a big fan of Samsung's software. One UI is ok.

The main cameras are great, fast to take shots. Maybe not Pixel level but good enough. S10+ should have had a wide angle front facing cam combo - the depth sensor is ok I guess, maybe in time I'll see more benefit of the depth sensor...

Vibration and haptic feedback is nothing like quality of iPhone or LG phones. Samsung needs to up their game here.

I feel like there is no perfect phone at the moment. The battery life and cameras might make me keep the S10+ as a daily driver until something better arrives.

has anyone tried removing the screen protector that comes with the phone to see if that improves the finger print scanning?

Yea no problems.

I updated software straight out of the box. To be honest I still use the password out of habit, but I've also set up facial recognition which works well.

Gutted that my phone already has a bubble considering its supposed to be a factory fitted cover

I read for a lot of people it didn't help. Some people have luck turning on Touch Screen Sensitivity under display settings. (yet to try)

I'm not going to remove the protector yet.

Heard back that I should receive a code within 72 hours of the plan and phone being setup. Plan has been active since Monday morning but I guess they must get some notification when the actual phone gets setup too.

I watched a video review regarding the Samsung S10 and the reviewer said that the scanner in conjunction with the built in neural processor will improve its finger print scanning - not too sure whether that holds any validity though.

The trade in web site is a third party company:

https://www.xchangemobile.com/NZ/Samsung/

Can I also add that the fingerprint scanner on my Note 9 works perfectly every time and while the screen to body ratio isn't quite as good as the S10 there isn't a weird hole in the screen for the camera.

Setup the S10 last night so hasn’t been used extensively yet, but loving it so far. Should note that I’ve upgraded from a lower end phone (Vodafone Smart V8) so I’ll see a lot more of an upgrade than those moving from higher end models. The white looks beautiful in the clear case I got. No issues with the fingerprint scanner with my index finger, although it doesn’t work all the time with my thumb. Facial recognition, which I’ve never used before, works instantly every time. Love the buds after the first use on the train to work this morning too. Never used wireless headphones before and don’t usually use in-ear ones either so they will take some getting used to, but felt very secure and never in danger of falling out. Haven’t played around with the camera yet so will try and do that in the weekend. Vodafone are supposedly delivering the TV tomorrow too.

Yeah, I started using my index finger and can get it working 90% of the time now. Thumb doesn't work for me either (maybe 1 time in 10 attempts).

I think the scanner issues are mostly software related (or screen light interferes?) and may get fixed.

Scanner is quite fast if you press the finger on the screen to unlock when the screen is completely off. This is the most reliable for me.

Scanner responds slower and seems less reliable when initiated with the screen already on. E.g. tap screen, then press finger. For some reason, unlock then is slower. I wondered if the light from the amoled is intefering somehow. Anyway, I'm getting the hang of the scanner, so I would suspect I'll have it mastered eventually (even if it has it's quirks).

Now that I've used the phone a bit more, I am really enjoying it.

Yeah I would have got a Note but the wide angle camera on the S10 is a big selling point for me.

Just got a text from NL to say my S10+ is ready to be picked up.

Called them up about it and it's only the phone that's ready to pick up, still waiting for the earbuds and Google Home Hub, sigh...at least the most important item out of 3 is here I guess

Enjoying my S10e after about a week with it.

I love the design and I like the hole punch cutout much more than the notch. I think I might sort of prefer the look of the S10e to the regular S10 as well?

The hardware feels really good except I'm not a fan of the feeling of the power button. The fingerprint sensor works well but the power button is just sort of mushy feeling and it fits a bit loosely in the side of the phone. Seems sort of like they cheaped out compared to the rest of the phone but that's just nit picking.

Samsung software is pretty good. I thought I'd only ever be able to use stock Android or iOS but but OneUI is pretty nice (although I wish I could get rid of Bixby.)

There are a few useful features that I don't seem to see mentioned much. Samsung Dex looks like it could be useful and I'm thinking about getting a USB-C hub. Also, secure folder has been amazing for me because I can separate all my work related apps and emails from my personal stuff.
