Is anyone else having issues with the fingerprint scanner? I wouldnt have expected it be the same level as a physical scanner, but it seems to be close to unusable for me.

I find it works well with both index fingers but not so good with my thumb. Do seem to have to press quite firmly.

At first I had trouble but then I redid the print using my index finger and it was more reliable.

I found that a quick firm 'press' is what works best. It is a bit iffy though... sometimes I go through a few hours 100% working, no issue.. then other times it just won't work for a little while and says no match. Overall I estimate I get unlocked first scan about 80-90%, which is much better than when I first got the phone.

I think it's related to when my skin is dry. Based on how good it works (when it is working), I have a feeling that the issue will be resolved with a software update, so I decided to hold on the phone and trust Samsung will sort it out.

My cover arrived so I have started using my S10. Now I just have to get myself out of the habit of touching the cutout where the camera is on the back (as per S8). Luckily it is only the flash on the S10 where the fingerprint sensor is on the S8.
The speaker is much louder as well.

I saw a video on YT about the fingerprint reader that may be of assistance.

I can't seem to find it now, but in essence it suggested making more than one entry for the finger and rotating the phone through 360 degrees around the scanner in a number of stops so that perhaps 6 or so scans were made in abnormal positions.

It does seem to improve accuracy. I see the biggest issue as getting 'the spot' exactly correct when  the screen is dark - the scannable area needs to be twice the size, then it would probably work 99.9% of the time.

I think you are 100% spot on here (no pun intended). The scanning area is quite a small target to hit on the screen. And there is no taptic cue either. It would be handy if there was a vibration or taptic feedback when we hit the spot...hm..

The buds just got an update.

There are two apps every Samsung owner should have. One is Samsung internet which is available from the play store. It's much faster than chrome, integrates with the Samsung password manager and allows ad blockers. The other is disconnect pro from the Galaxy store which uses the firewall built into knox to do system level add blocking. You won't find this on the play store because the Google terms of service don't allow add blockers given they are in the ad business.

No

The phone does have a wide angle feature that works like a panorama for the front facing camera.

There are two modes on the front camera. One is wider than the other but isn't vastly wide.

I don't know whether both views come from one camera or whether it uses both.

Both are from the same camera.

One is just cropped in and one isn't.

The other 'camera' is just a depth sensor

Are there any other usages for the depth sensor, apart from blurring images?

Oh. Well you have to wonder why they bothered then. The S10 seems to produce pretty similar results without the depth sensor.
