Dairyxox: Some in the tech media are starting to notice that the exynos version takes blurrier photos than the snapdragon version. Something to do with the image signal processor in the SOC perhaps. See here: https://twitter.com/andreif7/status/1113039544243404800

I haven't taken many photos yet, but to date I'm not sure my S10 is any better than my S7 for photos. In particular, my S10 seems to struggle more with image contrast between light/dark elements on auto mode than my S7.

Yes I'm beginning to have doubts about this exynos business. Battery life during use is bad.

Batman:

I just found the setting hidden in the fingerprint menu where it says turn on sensor when screen is off, unchecked and screen is no longer responsive. Took me 2 days to find it, but glad I did.

Now just going to whinge that I have the Exynos and not the Snapdragon.

Eh the fingerprint scanner still works when the screen is off. Power sucker!

Can anyone here in NZ with a S10e check if it has FM radio? (I know, old school) But curious to know if it has it or whether its just the international/US version that has FM.

Thanks

I would like to know this as well. Am considering getting the S10e from Noel Leeming with the JBL headset and Google Home bundle. Then use the tradein promo as well.

Thanks for confirming.

I'm still tossing up between getting the S10e this week (to take advantage of Samsung NZ $200 e-voucher + $300 cash + trade-in deal).

OR waiting for the new Galaxy A40 to be released here, which appears to be a very similar size to the S10e, slightly lower spec (which I don't mind), so possibly cheaper, and FM.

The A40 may be less expensive, but if you can't get the same $500 saving off list price, the end price you pay may be similar to the 10e? Sadly, the only way you will know for sure is after the S10e offer has expired.

I haven't even used the phone yet and I've noticed that my font size (yes font size) changes at random.

From my experience Samsung commands a special kind of love hate relationship. Actually all mobile phones but I don't know why the feeling is stronger on Samsung. My Huawei handicaps me a lot and I don't seem to complain.

Agreed I've had the font change several times today, obviously something is optimising in the background.....

Out exercising this morning using Samsung health, the buds and Spotify and the music kept pausing and a tone every 20secs or so, all started today includong the font, so something happening in the background.

Hopefully it will all settledown.

Love the auto reset function overnight, I realised without it I would go maybe weeks without restarting the phone!

Can't speak highly enough of how good the phone is though.

What auto reset?

Warning, auto reset kills your morning alarm!

I haven't used in anger yet but when I tested it worked.

Did you get caught out?

It occurred to me that it might be better just to reset in the middle of the day. I'm often on call and that might be a better way.

Ah that's why I set mine for Sat night :)

Do people schedule restarts daily? Why would you do that?

AFter about 4 whole days of fiddling I think I have seen most of the layers of menus! (though I did discover things I didn't know about from youtube last night - NEVER saw them after 4 days of fiddling!)

The background activity description is found under

Settings - Apps - Individual App - Battery - Allow background activity - NO
