mrgsm021: Have installed the update but jury still out if it improves the finger print scanner.

Not on mine - it's dramatically improved.

However, as a result of the palaver referred to above, I did have to reset my phone and that meant I had to log all new fingerprints. I do not know if that had anything to do with the improvement.

Mine installed smoothly from the update notification, no reset or new finger print registration involved. After installation fingerprint unlock improved significantly and immediately.

You're very lucky. I cannot describe what a PITA resetting the phone caused. The restore from Smart Switch did not, in fact, restore it like for like. It's maddening, as I keep finding things that did work (because I had spent ages setting them up when I got the phone) that now don't work and need setting up all over again. Grrrr.

Mine just would not accept an update of something called TADownloader, whatever that is, which appeared necessary before the fingerprint update would load.

Anyone after a slim case for their S10e?

I have a Spigen Ultra Hybrid case (has clear back), only used for couple of hours, but decided it wasn't for me (slim with clear back), can't take it back.
Instead went for a more robust Incipio dualpro.

Case can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=25IAC2lnHio&t=10m11s

PM me with any offers.

Hi guys, Id like to know what features made you buy the $1500 S10 over the $800 S9?

Im genuinely curious as both phones are awesome. But they also dropped what was an excellent iris scanner, for a hypersonic finger print.

What other features am i missing over the s9?

I bought it for the wide angle camera and 4k video. But now I wish I had the snapdragon one as the exynos is a joke.

Benchmarks are benchmarks in every day use you would notice 0 difference.

The exynos version is capable of 8K video recording but it stunted to have parity with the SD.

Remember Samsung produces the SD for Qualcomm.

In addition to the usual Samsung annoyances the finger print reader takes the new prize of most annoying even after the update

Unplugged the phone at 100 % today. Changed two settings. Looked at screen. 98%. Everything is turned off that I can turn off without rooting. Power saving mode. Low screen brightness.

With the volume of devices being produced maybe you have one that slipped through? That's what OBFe are for.

Chuck the phone into safe mode and see if the same behaviour is exhibited.

As stated maybe you have a faulty device?

Why not go and get it checked?

When I grow a thick enough skin I will go to noel Leeming for them to laugh at me and then sell me a power bank.

But you have a point there. Just impossible to argue I would think
