TeaLeaf:

The s10e is a snapdragon 855 is it not?

USA/LATAM and China get SD, rest of world gets Exynos, that goes for all models.

Wow it use to be the other way around.

So is Exynos totally garbage or something?

it's never been the other way around. when there has been two models available (exynos and SD), US/China always got the SD version while we always got Exynos. Note some versions only ever had one variant built, eg all S5's were SD, while all S6 & S7's were exynos.

So the s10 and s10+ use exynos too, so not a downer on the s10e?

Performance no noticeable difference. But 10nm is very old technology compared to 7nm of the SD and the Huawei's Kirin which has much much lower power consumption.

According to my battery app the screen doesn't use much power. So I'm guessing the Exynos is the battery drain.

Exynos in s10 range is 8nm.... Not 10

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

nope. i needed what the galaxy can offer me. (the cameras - the huawei cameras weren't quite as good, 512gb storage vs 126gb, the mSD card - which the huawei didn't have, the speakers actually work - the huawei phone speaker top one might as well not be there can't hear anyone if it's not at max but when at max the whole supermarket can hear my conversation, every other person tells me they steal my data so i didn't use the fingerprint reader, but the screen was bigger and the battery lasted forever). if you're wondering about apple, i am incompatible with apple phones. can't even move a photo from the iphone without problems, without even getting into videos and music files.

I have had 2 galaxies before and they have shown me what to expect - poor battery life. everything else it top notch.

snapdragon would be good, but can't get it.

maybe next time.

Geektastic: How long does yours last on full charge?

i try not to charge it over 80%, it went to 100% by accident this morning, it's never hit over 91% before lol (it charges so fast there's no need to charge it overnight)

just over one day heavy use.

not sure about light use, due to battery drain during idle, so it may be fine after one day, but pretty sure when i wake up the next day it would have drained and be insufficient for 2 days.

*so far it says 100->47%. screen time 2hrs 32 mins, 13% use. the bloody exynos/wwan has mopped up the rest as the camera time was 7 mins (ok that might be a big hit), and wifi was off but for about 30 mins giving out hotspot to one device).

From 100% mine will do 2 days of moderate use, more than any phone I have ever had. If I used battery saving settings I would probably get another day.

I have noticed that people tend to leave their phones on all night. I can't see the point of that really - you're asleep. Why use 10% or whatever of the available power to run it when you won't be using it?

yours is probably the plus, mine is not the plus just the s10. i need my alarmS to work in the morning. do alarms work when off?

PS some people need to be contactable at all times, so that won't apply to everyone

Even though the image processing is much nicer I still miss the raw power from the 20MP camera on my previous phone.

Latest annoyance: every picture I take, the camera says "That last picture might be a bit blurry".

Even using a tripod...
