PBtech is doing pre-order bundles if you are that way inclined

https://www.pbtech.co.nz/promotions/samsung-galaxy-s10

Although the bundles all include the Buds, so YMMV depending on how much you want any of the other things.

If you sign up for 2D at the same time, do you get double Buds?

Is there any word on the performance differences between the SD 855 vs the Exynos version? Normally the Exynos is better, but I remember the S9, the SD 845 was pretty much good as if not better than the Exynos.

The best deal for me is direct from the Samsung NZ online store. It's the same price as everywhere else, and includes the Galaxy Buds like they all do. The other bonuses are a $150 Samsung estore voucher and a free screen replacement in the 1st year.

I'm not interested in the non-Samsung hardware offered by the other retailers. Once I'm emailed the estore voucher, it will mostly cover the $160 Samsung Ultra Fast Duo Pad charger, which I want for charging 2 phones or the phone & buds at the same time. Free shipping, of course (and no credit card fee like PB Tech has).

It's interesting that the Samsung Australia store only offers the Galaxy Buds as bonus - there's no estore voucher or screen replacement. But then we pay more here, even after applying the exchange rate.

Yeah normally I'd say the PBTech bundles are the best as they include a lot of stuff in the bundle. However I've already got a UE Boom, good headphones, wireless charger etc so it doesn't seem worth it right now. I hear with the S10 phones that because of the in-display fingerprint sensor, there is potential for screen protectors to affect functionality (Though Samsung is currently working with manufacturers to help with this issue). As a person who always applies a glass screen protector on all phones, I might have to skip on the protector if I go with the S10 and having a free screen replacement directly from Samsung seems like the best deal so far, and that's before mentioning the free Galaxy buds and $150 voucher.

Yep, I'm not interested in bundles of gadgets I don't really need. I'll be going for the Vodafone free buds bundled with $200 discount.

Just checked how much trade in value I got for my S6Edge when I bought the Note 9 for the Mrs, it was $525, more than the $490 for my S8 plus, anyone know why is this the case? I'd probably get better $$ on trademe.

Simple. The S10 release is more desirable than the Note 9 was, hence the trade in value decreases.

dafman: I was comparing the announced S10 hardware relative to competing hardware, not Android v Apple. So not trying to justify anything; simply offering an opinion and comparison of the factors that were key to me in deciding which S10 variant to buy - so this is the appropriate thread.

Hardly, it’s plain to see you have an agenda against Apple, you do it at any chance you get, you did exactly the same in the X and than the XS thread did you not? If you cannot see that you definitely are really one eyed.

Let’s give you the benefit of doubt here and say you compared and made your decision. Let’s see how long you can bite your tongue before the itch gets too much again lol

Does this mean Google Home has launched in NZ? I have always wanted to try the Google Home Hub, wonder how it performs as a speaker in the kitchen?

Noel Leeming have bonus Galaxy buds, Google Home Hub + $200 off on 2degrees.

When you factor in that $200 2deg discount, plus probably around $300 if you sell the galaxy buds and google hub on trademe you are potentially getting the phones for around $500 off full retail, if you did that with an S10e it would mean it would end being around $800. Then factor in whatever you can get for your current phone on trademe and its a pretty decent proposition for a brand new Galaxy S10.

That's how I looked at it anyway, so I went in to Noelleeming, had a play on all three models then pre-ordered 2x regular S10's (though I was tempted by the super compactness of S10e). I'll probably keep the Google hubs but I'll definitely be selling the two sets of buds as my wife and I both use Bose, so if anyone wants to buy some Galaxy buds hit me up ;)

These S10's are a much better deal than what I was expecting though. When I saw that USA pricing was similar to comparable iPhone prices I was expecting S10 to be much more expensive than they are. I paid about $3900 for my wife and I's iPhone XR & XS when they came out, so 2x S10's for $2600 with $1100 worth of freebies is a significantly better deal :)

BTW FWIW my wife and I were already on 2deg plans but we still got the $200 discount on each phone.

Nope, it's parallel imported from Australia. The "exclusive to..." messaging is a bit disingenuous to my mind.
