Finch:

Noel Leeming has told me  that the Galaxy S10+ has Snapdragon and not Exynos. Can anyone confirm that this is true with prior experience? I got told yesterday that all Samsung in NZ come with Exynos...

Edit: Side question. If it does have Snapdragon, is it still worth buying today, I think yes? For $1300, can almost get a S20, or iphone 11. Thanks

The person you spoke to is misinformed.

S10e camera megapixel size adjustment?

If this issue was already discussed in this thread, I searched but cannot find it.

Other online information that I found just confused me.

Can someone explain or point me to a simple calculation, of what the photo

ratio adjustments on my S10e camera mean in megapixel terms?

Currently the image size adjustment options are; 3:4, 9:16, 1:1, and 'Full'.

May I presume that 'full' means the 'full 12-megapixels'?

When wanting a 'small' photo either to attach to an email or use on Trademe,

is there a 'best' choice before taking the photo, rather than having to use a

photo editor app on a PC afterward to make the image smaller?

In my S10e camera menu there is no adjustment control over megapixel size.

It has Android 10 with UI 2.0, and was bought used and was previously an

'AT&T' network phone, if that makes any difference.

Thanks.

Thanks for the heads up. Installing now.

Shame it’s not the One UI 2.5 update. That’s about a 1GB download apparently.

Aspect ratio (the control you're talking about) won't have a major impact on image size.  If you want a smaller image size for outdated sites like Trademe, this can be done by editing the image using the standard Samsung image editor.  One of the main menu items is "resize"

One UI 2.5 update just installed now. Approx 940MB.

Now will await Android 11 and OneUI 3.0 (released in US three days ago).

I recall when the S10 range was released, screen protectors were an issue due to the fingerprint scanner; I think those that were available were typically plastic. I finally replaced the original on my phone with one supplied when purchased, and I’m still not a convert to the feel of a plastic protector compared to glass.

What is the situation now for these (and I assume the S20 range), given I see eBay etc are full of them, including glass ones (often with thinner glass over the scanner area)?

Can anyone recommend particular models, ideally from an affordable source like eBay, and also ideally glass? (Or do glass protectors simply not work on curved-edged screens?)

Thanks for any advice or recommendations.

Yes, with a bit more research I discovered it's only in beta at the moment (public beta released a couple of days ago). Initial release is scheduled for November 2020, plus whatever delays being in this part of the world adds.

Yep, it's sad Android 11 may be a while away, but in the interim...
What screen protector do you guys use, and would you recommend it?!

None. But my phone is in a full wallet case.
