lokhor: Wow this is the first time my battery has ever lasted more than 20 hours.

is that including any gaming with that or just txting and talk ?

seems like gaming just kills the battery especially  apshalt5 like kind of games

got another reply back from mugen batterys with the 3200mah cover phone thickness is

The 3200mAh battery extended cover thick 1.4cm.:

Thank you for your email!

This is the entire thickness of the phone, the extended cover.

Please contact me if you need any additional info.

Best Regards,

That was mainly texting, listening to music and podcasts, reading ebooks and twitter. I think I had a little over 2hrs of the screen being on + 1.5hours of audio with the screen off. I turned it off to switch batteries @ 30% after 22hrs.

I bought a 3500mah battery from ebay today so going to see how that copes when it arrives.

some of those 3rd party batteries are useless though, I had one for my nokia, and it only held half the charge of the original nokia battery.

Has anyone here successfully fixed the 3-button recovery using the method posted on XDA forums (Odin method)?

i have used chain fire method (odin) to root, and add CWM, but I already had 3br piror, if you don't have 3br this adds it for you.

maybe a better alternative to the giant mugen battery which doubles the thickness of your phone

CyanogenMod 6.1 Beta has just been released. There are loads of bugs apparently. It's gone in to BETA so other devs can assist with ironing out the bugs. Good news though. Hopefully a stable release shouldn't be too far off.

I don't understand WHY when I have a connection to my WIFI, my applications are using the F*CKING 3G! Is there an app I can use to force it to use wifi?

Also anyone recommend a carkit app for the galaxy? Something that makes it easier and more friendly to use in the car?

I have noticed that my SGS is much more reluctant to switch over from 3G to my WiFi when I get home each day after work. It seems to have started about the time I upgraded to Froyo - but not sure if that's really the case or the cause.

Anyone else noticed this?

That's odd mine always uses wifi and not 3G when connected to wifi. Is it certain apps using 3G? Also if you press and hold power button you should get option to turn of data network mode

I find with froyo (Doc's Rom 7.6.2) + switchpro it no longer lets me have mobiledata and wifi on at the same time. If I want to enable mobiledata I have to first switch off wifi, only then does the data toggle work. Also if I when I connect to wifi the data switch is automatically greyed out and all data is sent via wifi. For car kit you could make some extra large win7 style icons using desktop visualizer app and have a specific homescreen for driving. there are also android car apps out there, and some of the phones (not galaxy) have a special car mode when you attach them to the car dock, not sure if anyone has ported this to over phones.
