lokhor: On the site it says:

If your phone came pre-installed with Swype
DO NOT download this beta (it won't work)

Also I have installed Swype on my SGS from the beta after uninstalling the preinstalled version and had massive lag issues with it.

Lol must have missed it. Ah well have got it working on my phone with no problems. I backed up the pre-installed version so if anything goes wrong I can easily install it back if I have any problems.

Yes I am having similar problems. Recorded a few videos last week videos are all out of sync. They start off alright but lose sync after like 10 seconds.

However my phone also plays it out of sync, and not just only on the PC(VLC + WMP). So there is definitely something funky going on with the camera/recorder app.

My old SGS has shocking modem signal and I wanted to flash a different modem.  I'm sure I've seen a thread on CWM3 files of different modems (outside of Perka's Statsh app).

Does anyone have a link?  And does anyone know if you can flash a SGSII modem onto a SGSI?

I'd love to get my KE4 modem onto the SGSI, I've got a top notch signal.  Though I'd have to find my modem somewhere.

TIA

Completely different modem hardware sorry neets. You would probably brick your phone. Try the jv3 modem for the sgs.

Thanks for the suggestion.  I I just did a cursory search and can't locate a JV3 modem.  Do you have a CMW3 flashable file or know where I can get one?  Cheers.

I got my jv3 modem of perkas file stash I think. Part of the jv9 rpm and inaccurately lacked as the jv9 modem sometimes. I do have a cwm3 file here for you if the other links don't work for you. I come back to jv3 again and again. Great battery and signal strength where I am (we have poor signal here so might be good for chch).

Thanks for that.  I've flashed it.  And the Android in Network Signal Info is crying!  That's the worst one so far.  It makes all the other seem fair hoofing along, even though they're around 26- 30% of the full strength.

Oops, in the time it's taken me to type that, I have a smiling Android.  Crikey, it's got multiple personalities Surprised

It's dropped a bit again but it's now between 45-50% which is the BEST it's been.

Maybe it's a keeper after all ;-)

Thanks nofam and Brendan.

EDIT:  We're back to tears again.  Why is it so fickle?

The Garden City. Or should that be The Broken City? Sometimes we remember it as Christchurch.

Might have something to do with the interference and infrastructure problems there in Christchurch.

Or it's packed a tanty because you have a sgs 2 now.... lol.

I think the jv3 modem is one of the best for NZ anyway.

Yeah I was going to suggest that it might be to do with being in Christchurch. I read that Vodafone is using portable towers so that might be part of the issue.
