The PB price, $579 compares well with the price you would pay on Amazon, US$392. Which is about NZ$550 once you convert and add in the Shipitto.com to get it here.

Another $40 isn't bad to avoid the hassle and potential problems buying from Amazon.

I may have to rethink my 'not yet' policy on tablets.

I still think $200 for the doc is expensive, almost cheaper to buy a separate netbook.

Didn't anybody tell you I was a hacker?

PB Tech prices are ex GST. Their 16GB transformer without keyboard is $690 inc GST, and the 16GB with keyboard is $895 inc GST.

The keyboard is widely available for $240 inc GST and delivery.

Work paid for my tablet (gift for all my hard work Smile) and I bought they keyboard myself. I 'pricematched' PB Tech's keyboard price ($228) at the Computer Lounge website (they came back right away and matched it) and then redeemed the 200 points earnt from the tablet which gave me another $20 off. So $208 for the keyboard (including GST and delivery, although I picked it up).

No mucking around with the case/sleeve. Just got back from lunch, which I used to race around and compare the offerings at Warehouse Stationery, Noel Leeming, and Jb Hifi (all at St Lukes). I was tempted by the thin and snug Gola for $30 at Warehouse Stationery but in the end went for the more expensive Targus Zamba from Jb Hifi ($39). Still fits sung (wuth keyboard attached) but it's a nice purple instead of boring black (which apparently now means abstinence!) and the padding seems much more substantial. I think it's a good balance between protection, attractiveness, and size.

LMAO! Nice. Yes, imagine the anticipation levels by then after all that foreplay.
After only a few days of mucking about I can tell you Andrew that you won't be disappointed, it's an awesome machine. Just loading on the BNZ app, looking ot see what other NZ offerings there might be.....

Sorry guys I missed out the GST but the combined product from PB is still reasonable I think
Also I had to wait two weeks from firstin as well though it came a little early. It was fully sealed in the Transformer carton so I imagine it was new. They probably bulk order once they get an idea how many they need.

Ok here is a question....why does it say everywhere online that Splashtop is bundled with this tablet? It's not on mine. I just downloaded the "Eee Pad Pc Suite" from the Asus website and it loads up Splashtop on my desktop PC but when I go to load the app on my tablet it wants $5.88 for "Splashtop Remote Desktop" at the Android Market. So what are they playing at?

Its under the My Cloud application, open that and look at My Desktop. this is actually Splashtop and works fine with the desktop spashtop client. Gawd knows why they couldnt just call it splashtop :)
