Is the worldwide warranty by Acer? If so it's probably ok. Still I don't 100% trust ebay sellers, 99.9% are fine but you get the odd one that's not.

You mean Asus? From what I know they offer international warranty on all of their products.

NZtechfreak: Got my Prime yesterday.

Some YouTube videos and stuff up soon.

Early impressions:

- This is how Android Tablets should have been from the beginning, finally Honeycomb performance is as smooth as it should be (and should be getting the update to ICS very soon)
- Design/build quality/build materials: Drop dead gorgeous. The most beautififul tablet on the market right now
- Original Transformer USB adapter works in the Prime (got one yesterday from PB Tech, who have quite a few in stock for interested people), USB stuff seems to be working fine (used a Logitech combined USB wireless keyboard/mouse combo with it and all working well, did that whilst connected via micro HDMI to the TV and RDP to the laptop via Splashtop HD - awesome!)
- Finally Android tablets can play video perfectly, no longer will me phone play video better than my tablet!

Out of interest does it have the same lag when typing into certain websites like this one using the stock browser? I have a Xoom and a Transformer and notice this all the time which really bugs me. I am hoping ICS fixes it but I wonder if the faster CPU in the Prime also alleviates the problem.

Robbie is right

If it breaks you send it to a repair centre in Auckland, I have done it previous with my laptop I bought off B&HPhotoVideo.  Just make sure you fill out the International travellers warranty card

Ahh, I see. Thanks :)

The seller seems to be pretty trustworthy - >3000 trades with 99.5% positive feedback. Very tempted to just do this and buy the keyboard dock when it becomes available.

I regularly buy expensive electronics from Ebayers with that sort of feedback record (and only ones like that!) and yet to have a single problem. I would go ahead on that if you're keen to buy now.

New Prime owners who want to watch video on their shiny new tablet will be pleased to know that a full version of Dice Player (ad-supported) is now available on the Android Market.

I see Clove now show their primes coming in at the end of january. I was going to get one through clove but not sure they will ever stock them. Although B&H still don't have an exact date either.

Clove are as good as it gets, I'd go with them rather than B&H (who have so many backorders to fill now I doubt you'd see it any earlier than from them than you will from Clove if you order this late in the piece).

I agree, Clove are good, slightly faster than B&H(Who i got both my laptops from)

I had my pre order in, but I'm thinking of cancelling.  There's a rumour that the 3G Primes will be announced at CES.  If so, I can probably get my work to help pay for one, instead of the Galaxy Tab :)

Will probably go with Clove as I have brought from them hassle free before, just voicing my anguish of the constant moving of release date. I originally saw them saying it would be out before Christmas 2011, hope its out before Christmas 2012

Lots of interesting Prime-related stuff overnight:

Even more intriguing—and fortunate for those who didn’t throw down some greens for the Transformer Prime this Christmas season—the company has officially announced that the Transformer Prime would be getting a 3G variant. Addressing early adopters’ user complaints of weak GPS, it’ll come with a more powerful GPS module. Expect the new ASUS Transformer Prime 3G slate to be released to the public this March.

So the 3G Prime is basically a Prime Redux of sorts. That's all very well and good, but there's even better news:

http://www.ibtimes.com/articles/278280/20120107/asus-transformer-prime-two-new-models-expected.htm

ASUS will be launching two new models of the Transformer Prime at the CES 2012, the company has announced. The company will launch a 7-inch tablet and a 10-inch high resolution model at the CES, according to NetbookNews.

This one is kind of interesting. That 'hi-res' rumour is getting steadily closer to the kind of specs the recent Snapdragon developer tablet platform had, but that was running  2GB of RAM and I can't see ASUS fragmenting the Prime that much so quickly. I mean I'd love to see the Prime not get left behind by whatever Samsung/Google have in the pipeline for MWC, but that's probably not going to happen at the moment. So how they play the hi-res one will be interesting, but as long as it's hi-res and 3G capable, I don't rightly care.

What will be interesting is the price point. The Prime as it currently stands isn't really competitive on price, but rather on it's feature-set. How much more will a 3G, high-res prime cost?

I can't see them charging much more to be honest, but I guess we'll know in less than a week :)
