I have a certain android app that plays up if its left running too long has to be force quit if left active for anything more than  a few hours.  The application is for an alarm system, and given the company who makes it also sells a much more expensive touchpad for their alarm system I'm almost sure its by design

The obvious way around this to me is to have the application launched when the touchpad is unlocked and closed on screen lock/idle.

I've found a good event based app that will start the alarm panel application on startup and on screen unlock but it doesn't allow me to close the app on events.

The touchpad is rooted so it seems it should be possible anyone have any idea how I would do this?
