Is there a way to set up lightbox to run through Mediaportal? Maybe the online videos plugin?

Without using MediaPortal I'd say it's unlikely.  Same with Plex Channels, a Roku Channel, Kodi Addon, or any other streaming media player service.  These services seem to be pretty unfriendly towards any other service attempting to view their legally paid for content.  POssibly because once its being streamed it can be saved?  I don't know what their reasoning is.

I mean if you've paid for a service I would have thought that putting it on as many platforms as possible would make sense and it promotes viewership, ie promotes subscribers.  But none of them seem to be friendly to 3rd party media players.

Try setting up Chrome to open full screen with lightbox through the shortcutter plugin.

Yeah the best you can do is open chrome in kiosk mode, but then its hard to close the window .. alt/f4 ...

Same issue with kodi, you can get a list into the menus but you are still going to need the browser for playback, and that screws  up the remote control etc

I have been thinking of a keybord friendly UI would be nice and solve most of the issues though

note it is broken, but the idea would be the same as youtube tv ui

If the browsers (or is it the site that would need to support it?) supported keyboards - life would get much simpler.  At least you could use a remote to navigate.

The sites really, they are all designed assuming you will have a mouse or touch (kind of silly if your a streaming site)
