Hi,

I'm looking to get a universal remote system running through my house. We have six TVs scattered around the place and what I want to be able to do is have the remote select and control either normal tv, freeview, mysky (old), mysky hdi or a gaming console (wii). Would like the remote to be able to control the pause play function of mysky as well.

Is this possible with mysky hdi? We had the earlier version which is now located in another part of the house, and we could get it to be viewed in other rooms however now Sky say that we can't and that it can only be viewed in the tv that is above it.

So overall:

* Please recommend a Universal Remote system
* Can this work with normal tv, mysky hdi, mysky norm and freeview?
* Anyone know a rough cost for setting this up?

I'd be looking at logitech remotes:

I have the logitech harmony One and it is is superb. From the website you can check which equipment it can control; it controls MySky HDi without any problems.

Cheers for that. I was also looking at Wireless AV transmitters and receivers. Do you think this could do the job for multiple rooms tuning in on the individual decoders?

2.4GHz models look good except I have a feeling that they are the same frequency as our phones which could cause some interference.

Ideas?

I have no experience of wireless AV transmitters and receivers I'm afraid and can't advise. But 2.4GHz is the same freuency as many cordless phones, most wireless networks and also wireless speakers so you may well get interference.

I have a Harmony One as well and can recommend it. Again, like CoulSong, I don't have any expereince with AV transmitters.

I have used AV senders and found the 5.8ghz ones way better than 2.4ghz. BTW there is no change in the way your original mysky works. If you used rf out from it to distribute to another room over coax you can still do so.
