Im moving into a flat in a couple of days and taking sky with me and ive noticed there are two cables coming out of the wall from the sky dish but there is only one input on the back of my sky decoder. Will it still work if i just plug one cable in?
Probably the previous tennant had a MySky HDi install when Sky techs were running two cables from dish to decoder. Have a look at the dish and see if it has two cables to the LNB. If it does then just use either one for your decoder. There is a chance you may have to alter the LNB settings in your decoder too if it is different to the one at your previous address.
No nothing to do with TV settings, (although if you're going from old CRT to flatscreen HDTV at the same time you'll want to at least change the aspect ratio output from the decoder to 16:9!)
What i was refering to is that some of the old Sky LNBs were 11300MHz whereas all their newer ones are 10750MHz. So basically if at your old place the LNB was 11300MHz and you connect to the LNB at the new place (which IS 10750MHz if it has two feeds) then all you'll get is the rainfade message. Just connect it up when you get there. Chances are it will work straight away, (the old LNBs are getting rarer now). If it doesn't it's likely all you'll have to do is access the service menu of your decoder and change the LNB setting from 11300MHz to 10750MHz
