My galaxy S2 died for no reason after 8 months normal use and I should be covered under NZ Warranty. Just to clarify the phone was not dropped, wet or tampered with or had unauthorized software upgrades. I sent it back to the shop where I bought it from (can I name them on here?) and they have had it for over 5 weeks since. This is the email I received from them yesterday when I finally asked what they were doing with my phone....
Hi Joel, Samsung was supposed to return the phone to us last week by Friday and they are being a little difficult as - They are refusing to repair under warranty as they believe the problem is caused by usage! They say the whole motherboard needs to be replaced and paid for beforehand! If they refuse like this - there is very little we can do about it - but we are still trying our best to push them to repair under warranty.
I think I might be getting the run around from this Auckland based company. Anyone know what I can do further or is normal practice when things go wrong?

The consumer guarantees act states that the retailer must sort it. If you believe that the phone has not been damaged (outside of 'normal' wear and tear), then keep pushing it with the retailer. They also have to provide a solution in a timely manner.
