There is a phone that I am interested in on Trademe.
It is described as "new". Apparently is unused but has been in storage since new.
I'm wondering how well Lithium batteries fare when unused for a few years.
Does anyone know?
(Or in fact any other parts of a phone that may degrade with age. We are probably talking at least 3 years - possibly 5)

Factor in having to buy a new battery when over a few years old, especially if it has been stored for a long time

OK, thanks. Since it's a waterproof phone with a non-removable battery, that will be expensive - especially to retain it's waterproofness. (is that a word?)

hadnt used my old phone for 18 months, but had to drag it out as my current one had a smashed screen and needed to go into the shop.

Battery still lasted fine, and about the same as it did before i stopped using it
