Very cheap camera gear with free delivery, no hits other than their own website on google.

Has anyone used them?

It sounds like another dropship - seeing they have a registration in Australia and all. If you want to try something similar with similar prices even, with free NZ delivery, try our affilliate link to Value Basket.

Haven't used them but they can't be completely shonky. They actually have a physical address in Christchurch! Better than most of the shonky ones.

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

Hey cheers, I have been looking at valuebasket.com and they are only $30 more expensive on a $2800 lens and as a partner of geekzone I think im a bit more comfortable using them.
BigNorman gets some bad reviews in the UK and when I dialed their (09) number there was quite a delay and I was talking to someone with a Brit accent.

Thanks

Jason

I talked to Australian-based VB folks a few times over the last months so it's ok. USe VBNZ8420 for an extra $8 discount and free shipping.

Nope. I just saw it was a physical address. That is not so good. Their terms and conditions aren't so good either. You can only return the product if you received the wrong item.

Their Phone number is a VoIP Number so could be answered anywhere.

Haha, If anyone does work at Harvey Norman and want to sell me gear at cost I will likely buy it!

Anywho, I'm after a 70-200mm L IS MK2 and I'm willing to pay $2700 for a new one or $2300 for a second hand one ;)

Look at warranties before you buy. Sometimes Canon/Nikon won't service parallel imported equipment.

I've experience this before with another online retailer, they didn't want to repair a lens after it was outside the 1 year warranty period, thanksfully we have the CGA to help us out there.

@LennonNZ do you think the CGA would cover http://www.valuebasket.co.nz/ ?

I wouldn't think VB would follow the CGA - the domain is .nz but the company is from overseas, pretty much like Amazon and others...

I searched 70-200mm L IS MK2 on Amazon. Why not buy from them? They do ship photo products to some countries outside the USA. You obviously would have to pay GST (but then you would have for the other overseas suppliers too). But the Amazon service is pretty good.

We bought lots of clothes, shoes, Amazon Kindle (favourite xmas gift around here), SSD and memory. Never had a problem, and the only time I contacted them it was all pretty easy.

Amazon are a great seller, and are great for returns too. Not all equipment can be sent directly to new zealand, but youshop can deal with that for lower value packages. Other reshippers can probably to higher value packages.
