G'day all.

I wonder if any recent users of the Specsavers 50% off golden ticket could advise me whether it also applies to lens options, and if there are any 'gotchas' at all in this deal?

I want to turn up with exactly the right amount, and not suddenly find I'm paying more to get what I thought I had enough for, ya know? When I got my recent pair (that gave me the golden ticket to use on a second pair) the amount I paid for my lens options was more than any math I could manage from the prices listed on the Specsavers site. It turns out those prices were merely the minimum, and the actual price varies depending on the interrelationships between the frames and lens options I picked.

So, I'd like to make sure I don't run into any... similar lack of clarity with the Golden Ticket :-)

TIA!

I happen to have a Golden Ticket in front of me and it states Discount available for the purchase of one complete pair of glasses from the $299 range or above, including lenses and extra options.

That suggest the answer to the first part of your question is yes.

However, in my experience Specsavers are very good at finding those extra options that you need which quickly blows the price out, particularly if you need progressives.  If you have a reasonable idea of your prescription I suggest you find frames you like, grab their price guide that outlines the lens options and then take that away and sit down and work out what you might be up for.  Then go in and see them, tell them this is what you're after and tell them you want 50% off that.  If they're not prepared to honour it they better have a good explanation.

Thanks for explaining "plethora".

It means a lot.
