Have a project for a client coming up whereby vehicle mounts will be required. I have done some searching and spoken to a few car audio people and have come up blank.

Anyone have any links or experience?

Cheers

Matt.

Ideally a generic 15in laptop.

Perhaps @InstallerUFB can give some ideas? Lots of the Chorus guys have a laptop dash mounted.

When we had them in our last fleet, we had a local engineering company design and build them. Not sure of the final cost, but a vehicle specific bespoke item was about the only choice.

Lazy is such an ugly word, I prefer to call it selective participation

Yep many of the field techs (Downer) have a swivel laptop stands in their vans - the bases are mounted to the floor near the middle (towards the passenger side) or mounted off the fittings for the passenger side seating. They have generally been moved from van to van by the Tech as the vans are swapped out. Some even have a monitor mounted up on a base, with wireless keyboard/mouse combos and the laptop just sits closed, strapped down on the floor on the passengers side.

With the requirement now to not 'modify' the vans to create new mounting positions many mounts are just thrown out when vans are swapped out and they live with some sort of just leave it on the seat arrangement for the laptop

On the dash, so you can still see a bit of the road....

I have my Surface mounted in my car using http://www.rammount.com/brand/microsoft

Another popular manufacturer is Proclip, Amzer and Havis

No idea if they do generic 15" but worth a look

Thanks for all the replies, I was ideally looking for an NZ based company to supply and install.

I see that the NZ agents for Ram Mounts have a broken website......

You have to be careful with this, as a WOF requirement, the mount and laptop can't be in the way of the airbag system.
