Yesterday someone posted in this forum about a Philips Hue sale at JB Hi-fi: "Philips Hue Sale @ JB Hi-Fi" https://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=164&topicid=306302

I got an email notification about it, but the post was quickly deleted - anyone know why?

I ordered some Philips Hue gear from JB Hi-Fi  at pretty steep discounts, but the order has now been cancelled due to a "significant pricing error".

Guess was deleted as it was a pricing error not a deal.

It ended up being error, but the products were included in a big "online clearance" deal, so I don't think it was an obvious error. Could have been clearing out old products to make way for new ones being announced.

Just took a look. It was linking to here: https://www.cheapies.nz/node/41675

Pricing error + post has been marked as out of stock.

Yeah that was me. Deleted it after realising that JB wouldn't let you complete the checkout process.

Interesting - I bought and paid for some items last night. Not sure how much effort I want to put into pursuing this, but the example on this page would imply that JB Hi-fi are obliged to honour the sale: https://legalvision.co.nz/regulatory-and-compliance/do-retailers-have-to-honour-pricing-mistakes-in-nz/

"For example, say that you advertise a sale for your products, calling it your “biggest sale ever”. But, pricing errors across all of your products mean that they are significantly reduced to a value you did not intend to sell them at. Because of the number of products affected, and the nature of the advertising, you misled customers, and you may not be able to claim the error as an honest pricing mistake."

I did manage to check out (though without the most insanely discounted items) but have received the inevitable cancellation email.

It looks like they mixed up the discount amount and the price.

It's a good one too, puts the (corrected) JB prices to shame.

Bunnings is often worth a look for hue. I've been in a few stores with remainder / end of line specials.
