Im trying to book flights for my family of 5 to Malaysia later this year on the Air NZ website. Because it is codesharing with Singapore, they wont let me book for more than 4 people on the ANZ website. Does anyone know anyway around this?

Could I make 2 separate bookings of say 2+3?

Or just use Expedia (although at the moment that just keeps throwing up a 'we cannot complete your request error 25' at me.

Any ideas?

Yes I tried that, they said that it was because we were using a partner airline. They went off to try and find flight options for us (after I had given them the flight numbers). After about 20 minutes I gave up (and I suspect they will charge a service fee too)

You hung up on them? The AirNZ agents are excellent, and work hard to work out if non-standard plans can be achieved.

If you really want to book it online perhaps try booking direct with Singapore Airlines (won't get you the NZ code though if you were wanting points or Koru lounge access). House of Travel is another option though they do charge booking fees.

Use a travel agent. Much more effective and at a similar cost. Think of the time you will save and the peace of mind you will have, especially where long distance travel is concerned.

Whatever you do don't do this. Travelling on split PNR's is a disaster just waiting to happen.

For various reasons that would take me a long time to detail here booking partner flights with NZ throws up lots of issues particularly when done online. The call centre can do a lot more but you'll be paying a fee to deal with them.

Unless you have some very specific reasons for not wanting to use a travel agent (and I'm picking in your scenario none of the common ones would apply) your best option is to go and find a good travel agent who can do everything for you.
