Any experience with this? I have just bought a Android tablet and thinking of hooking this up to the Mediaportal.

yup, works fine you just install mpextend + wifiremote, setup a login for both. open the ports on your router/firewall. scan the qr login code in ampdroid from mpextend and you're away laughing.

No joy here, at least with streaming live tv. The default android ffmpeg HQ play mode just "stops unexpectedly".

Android VLC does play the stream, but  not really watchable.

Do you use an external player?

MX VideoPlayer Pro external player with FFMPEG HQ. No problems, very high quality, you can't ffwd/rwd, but you can pause. Uses SW decoding, as HW doesn't seem to be available for streaming.

Works fine for movies. Haven't tried live TV.

FYI, BS Player works well for playing mediaportal .ts files over WIFI... VPlayer, MX Player, no joy. This is on Asus TF300 with Jellybean upgrade
