Hi

I have recently purchased a Panasonic P50s60z

I read reviews online etc and it had pretty much what i wanted which included netflix and hulu

After getting it home and setup I discover that the z on the end means its the NZ version and doesn't have all the features of the standard p50s60

Is it possible to flash a US firmware on to this or access a service menu to change it to act as a US model?

I've connected it to the internet thru unblock-us but it doesn't give me any US firmwares to download

Anybody have any ideas or thoughts on this please let me know

I already have an appleTV the plan was to move this with the old TV to the kids room, hoping to get the function directly on the TV before i have to go and buy another appleTV

Cheers

If you want to turn your TV into a brick, go right ahead. If you don't, leave it on the current NZ firmware.

TVs and feature sets vary in every market, I guess you've read US reviews rather than checking what features the NZ model supported?

I don't know about other TV's but for example my sony has the same firmware in most countries and the applications shown on it depends where the TV thinks it is.

For example if I use openVPN to make it think its in the states then I get netflix/hulu Applications etc . If it think its in NZ I get quickflix applications.

Not worth the risk. Better to fool the TV into thinking it's in another country internetwise.
