Hi Guys,


I inherited a Samsung UA50KU6000SXNZ for free as it has a black vertical line about 10cm wide on all inputs. I'm 95% sure the issue is the Tcon board.



A genuine replacement Tcon part no BN94-10800X is around $400 ex Samsung NZ. has similar boards but with an 'A' or 'Z' suffix rather than the X, and I note in the pictures the satellite connector is missing which does not bother me, see here:


I can land one of these for under $100



What are my chances of the cheaper boards working ok?

It's definitely worth a shot for that price. I replaced a Samsung plasma driver board using an eBay vendor and it's still working today.

Can you check the existing board for dry joints or blown Caps? Obviously you're reasonably confident with the repair work, so checking the board might be a way for a really cheap win.
