Hi I have been searching the net for the best software used for converting/compressing DVR-MS files and Vob files to xvid/divx files but am having a bit of trouble finding one to use. I don't know too much about video conversion as I have allways left my files as their native type.
For DVR-MS, do I use the DVRMS toolbox to convert to MPEG2 and then use something like AutoGK to convert to xvid?Is AutoGK the one to use, or is there a better product?By the way I am using the Vista Codec pack decoders/encoders.

nvidia has a new tool with a stupid name which works quite well - badaboom.  its not free though.  "Super" is free and seemed to work fine for me for h.264 to dvd, but i cant remember if it handled dvr-ms.  tmpgexpress i'm pretty sure can do the dvr-ms - this isnt free either though.  there are plenty of other tools that can be used too- check out www.videohelp.com as they have a good bunch of guides and links on there for virtually every type of video conversion too available!
