We have a 2022 LG TV (65"), various Apps are either not working probably or not at all. Three examples are TVNZ+, Disney and 3Now. These are all current and the  TV WebOS is on the current version.

Symptoms are...

TVNZ+ the App will launch, menus etc all present but shows will not launch, will only show the dreaded spinning circle.

Disney very similar to TVNZ+ but will sometimes wont launch.

3 Now launches to a grey screen.

Netflix, Prime and Neon are all OK.

Things I have tried... Deleted Apps and reinstalled. Used both Wired or wireless connection. Turned IPV6 off and on Rebooted the network multiple time.

The Apps work fine when used on the AppleTV 4K puck. I don't really know a lot about TV stuff, is this a faulty TV or some setting I need to look at? any help would very appreciated.

@MikeB4: Try a "Full" powercycle - by which I mean unplug the TV from the wall, and then try and turn it on via the remote - clearly, it won't; but that should completely drain any capacitors still holding a partial charge in the power supply.  Wait 30 seconds, plug it in again, and turn back on and test.

Who is your ISP..... I had similar sounding issues recently on 2D during their migration mess.

Kind of sounds like issues we've been having lately. Some apps wouldn't start complaining of a network error, or would fail when trying to play a video. Very annoying.

I did have Disney+ working again on Saturday evening after switching from wired back to wireless but its since stopped working again. I can't imagine why switching between network types would affect anything though so possibly just a coincidence.

So far I've been inclined to blame the TV as the affected streaming services work fine on the xbox or a PC which run through the same APs/switches/router. If it was an issue with 2Degrees or my LAN I'd assume it would affect everything, not just the LG TV apps. I've not put any real effort into diagnosing the problem yet though.

I have power cycled as suggested and sadly the issues persist.
My service provider is Orcon. I am on the "gigabit" service. My service identifies as 2 Degrees and has been like this for sometime. I am using my own TP link Mesh outer through a managed switch.

I don't feel it's a service related as the Apps work ok through the Apple TV 4k pick, however I don't really know much about TV stuff as I am a network/desktop/Linux guy and an IT manager.

Just to eliminate network issues, got a 4G router you can plug the TV into ? :)

I don't have a 4G router. I have tested TVNZ+ on a phone using Wifi only and mobile data only and TVNZ+ worked ok in both scenarios.

WHat Im getting at is to connect the TV to a different network and see what happens......  what my situation was, was that on my mobile (wifi or 4g) Neon was happy as larry, but the TV on the fibre, was doing similar to what you've described. Put it onto another network (4G), and worked perfectly, which pointed to being a 2D related issue.

From what I know, it was some odd DNS IPV6 thing causing most of the trouble, and for whatever reason my phone working around it when on wifi. BUT, in saying that, I could NOT use Zoom on my fibre connection at all, but on 4G it was perfect.

Or you could try mobile hotspotting a 4G connection from your phone to the TV

I worded my last post badly, I blame pain relief. I actually meant I used my phone as a mobile hotspot to test.

I was prematurely excited last evening. After turning off the TV at the wall again, turning off the network, much to the chagrin of my mokopuna who are staying with us at present and rebooting everything the errant Apps worked however, after watching one show on TVNZ+ it was back to normal and the App simply refuses to play any shows. The App opens, the menu's etc are there but selecting a show to watch results in the dreaded spinning circle of doom.

I am at a total loss.

On our LG I had to disable ip6 to get the tvnz app and others to work reliably. Once the TV was ip4 only it worked and hasnt missed a beat since.

MikeB4: I am tempted to buy a new TV

Wouldn't it be better to buy something like Chromecast with Google TV rather than replacing the whole TV?

The HD (1080p) model is $69 and the 4K model is $109

Why not just use your Apple TV device? I have just bought a new LG TV but it has never occurred to me to try any of the built in apps as I am already familiar with the Apple TV and it seems to work well.
