This is embarrassing but I have done a lot of searches with no results.

I need to save a new IP address for said TV and I have forgotten how to enter the new address. No problem getting to the screen prompt but how the hell do I get into the screen entry mode to enter the address? I have tried every button on the controller to no avail. But did I miss the one I needed?

Please be gentle.

You might want to try the manuals on the Sony support site:

https://www.sony.co.nz/electronics/support/televisions-projectors-lcd-tvs-android-/kd-49x7000d/manuals

Hopefully they will have the instructions you're after. Good luck!

Is it set to DHCP and therefore not allowing you to enter an IP address? Would assume its picking up one if it is though (and connected to your network/wifi)

Thanks for posting. The manuals are not helping. In fact, nothing seems to relate to my problem. Even copilot can't help!

I can't use DHCP because the TV is connected to a router acting as an extender so DHCP is off.

The screen that is inviting me to enter the IP address  has this - 192.168.1.128, with a moveable cursor. I am assuming I just need to change the last two numbers but I can't find how to delete the 1 and 128 so I can add my own numbers.

So frustrating/maddening.

Use the left/right arrow keys on remote to move right or left and increment or decrement address field with up/down arrow keys.

P.S. DHCP from primary router should work over entire network segment. Point of disabling DHCP on secondary router connected via LAN interface is to avoid server conflict.

Nah, up/down keys send cursor to start or end.

Tried DHCP but it doesn't get any connection.

But thanks for posts.

I can vaguely remember using a screen keyboard years earlier, and I have a keyboard I have used as well, but just can't work out how to trigger the screen keyboard. The manuals are useless as well.

Call me frustrated.

Ah, got it connected via wifi. I didn't think I would be able to add the password, but my little Logitech keyboard worked!!

But if anyone knows how to add IP numbers I would like to hear!

Cheers.
