What are peoples opinions on the Samsung Blu Ray Player BD-D5300?
Here are a few questions i want to ask:

Is it able to play the standard AVI files from your USB flash drive like my TV can?
Does it upscale the standard DVD picture you currently have to Full High Definition?(my TV is full HD)
Is it capable of playing copied disk DVD's or copied Blu Ray disks for that matter?

Thanks

I am not sure what the correct technical answers are but my experience with mine is as follows:

1. Have not come across any AVI files it can't play yet, although sometime the FF or RW function is not available (could have something to do with the way the file is encoded). Runs photos etc also off USB.

2. DVD up-scaling isn't too bad IMO. Definite improvement over standard DVD but will never be "full High Definition"...you cant create HD data where there is none.

3. Have not encountered any issues with copied/created DVD's. Sorry have not tried anything other than rented/purchased BR disks

Picked up mine for <$200...good value for money in my book.
