Hi,

I recently discovered an issue that is occurring with my Samsung LA32R81BH LCD-TV. Best described as runs of differing colours from the top of the screen. Unsure if they are getting longer.

The TV is around 3years & 4 months old.

Anyone know what this issue is called? Thanks.

Also, the panel has always been connected to an HTPC via DVI>HDMI dongle & cable.

Do they stay as your screen shot or seem to run across the screen (as if it were a data stream embedded in the first few lines)

Does it do that on all inputs, and does it do that all the time? Could be a delaminating panel. Mine did something similar.

Geekzone website and opera don't play nicely together.

Well if it's occurring on all inputs then it's definitely a TV hardware fault.
But no idea what sort of fault. You could go back to the retailer and have have them repair it (quote the CGA if your warranty has expired.. 3 years is not a good lifespan)

Sounds like it could be the problem, as it does do it on all sources & all of the time.

How old was your TV when it happened?

Great. It seems my due diligence was somewhat misplaced when I purchased the TV. I bought from stereo World, in Dominion Road. This went under sometime in the 2nd half of 2008. Didn't think twice, as they had been in business for over twenty years at the same address. And the Samsung website lists their LCD-TVs as having only a 1 year warranty

CGA here I come, but aren't holding my breath if I'm forced to deal directly with Samsung.

There is an AV World, at the same address-I think. So will try them, as well.

They are further down the road from Stereo World's old location.
I'm not sure whether or not there is any crossover between the two business, but the name seems to suggest it.
