Hi,

Im looking at purchasing a new laptop but i am not sure what to get.
I will be using it for media editing, photoshop and the usual movies, internet surfing etc

My current work place is listed under HP employee purchase programme so we get a discount.
The hp envy dv7-7202tx has caught my eye as its selling for $1630 instead of of its RRP $2499 but i dont have a great deal of knowledge in terms of specs and what i need.

Ive tried searching for reviews on this laptop but haven't found any, just price comparisons.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

It would be a good idea to post the specs of that. Easier to comment.

That HP is hard to go past for that price and more than adequate for your needs. Big and heavy comes with the extra power tho.

Someone in another thread just pointed out the Lenovo X1 carbon multitouch is on sale for the moment. 10 point touch screen for Windows 8. 128GB SSD. That would be my pick of the week, a bit lighter on the specs and smaller screen size. Also quite adequate specs for your purpose if screen size is not an issue. I really like the build quality of the Lenovo's I have seen and used. No idea about the current models. Lenovo link some reviews. One says no HDMI.
