Ok, so i am 'gadgeted' to oblivion with both Mac and PC units, an iphone5s and 128GB iPad that's being pounded to death in my work, a Sony Xperia 2 tablet (so i can Android when i need) and so... with the price dropping bellow NZD$2k on the i7 256GB i just had to say hello to it (and cease my past of avoiding Win8.1)...

Problem i have is a couple of programs i want to carry with me really are mouse needy and because the Surface has only one USB it has gotta be Bluetooth. I also don't want to have to pay silly $ and it'd be good if it was small enough so it fits in with the portable theme.

Here's the problem though, no body seems to be carrying such beasties such that you can drop in and buy it. Most retailers i have stopped off at have wireless 'meeces' meaning they are USB dongle 2.4GHz....

As a temporary measure i have my Magic Mouse from my Mac working (http://www.trackpadmagic.com/magic-mouse/download) but we are not quite accurate enough when running a couple of CAD routines...

I have made a fairly indepth search but i'm getting a feeling it's almost 'unfashionable' for a BT Win8.1 compatible (portable use) BT mouse to be sold in NZ... or the big stores just don't have stock "anymore of that kind" (they were often BT connected to the keyboard and sold as a package).

Interestingly there seems to be a ton on amazon but they also say the usual 'doesn't ship to NZ' policy...

So i am gonna ask here if anyone with a Surface Pro 3 is running a BT mouse and what model is it and where'd you find it....

I use a MS wedge mouse, which is a bit cheaper than the arc and also available from the MS store.

Doesn't one of those multi USB port adapter thingies work on a Surface? I seem to need a million ports on my laptop and use one of those. Gives me six extra USB ports that work just like the real thing. Mine is powered by a wall power point tho, not sure how well they work with the port itself as a power supply.

I use a Logitech MX5500 which is a great mouse but I don't think you can get it on its own without the keyboard - http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Cordless-Revolution-Bluetooth-Keyboard/dp/B0011FQUQG

Here we go... The M555b is out but the M557 replaces it: Logitech M5557 on MightyApe.

Excellent replies everyone.... You are all damn helpful. Someone who has seen my post here and knows me has suggested the Logitech MX Master  based on the fact i constantly leap between my desktop PC to Mac and back and now the Surface and that this new offering from Logitech is able to cover the lot.... I admit the PC one is well hammered, the Mac Magic has started to play up too often too many times... all adding to me making excuses to spend more $. At over 100bucks it is rather outside what i truly want to pay but hmmmm i love gadgets for my work, i can already hear that little voice in my head... you really need one....

I love Logitech's marketing line " The Possibility Machine"...

I like the Logitech M series because I take them when away. Small enough to fit in any pocket in your bag - but not a gaming or precision mouse model.

Totally agreed and my 1st line of attack but more often i will be doing dang 'ole CAD updates work in the field or on the go which will probably benefit from the high dpi offered on the MX and the small screen of the Surface. If it comes to pass i make an expensive error i'll put it down to experience...

Oh sure. I have a Logitech MX Performance at my home station and that's what I use with my laptop. Lucky the Logitech gaming keyboard has two powered USB ports so one can be used for the mouse itself. But on the road I use the little Bluetooth one. Horses, tracks, etc...

I like the Surface Arc Touch mouse as it folds completely flat, which turns it off, and when flat fits into same sleeve etc a Surface goes in
