Looking to buy a laptop online from UK/USA

Samsung Ativ book 9 12.2" 256gb ssd 8gb ram

Amazon + bhphotovideo.com both sell $1099 USD

Any others? What is the best place to buy in terms of cheaper shipping / ease of dealing with?

good question. what will you do if it needs to be serviced.

why not buy a brand that is well supported?

Just doing the numbers now the laptop alone USD to nzd comes to $1700.

Might not be an option anymore.

Chose it because it is ultra portable and small in size.

Next best thing is Dell XPS 13 it seems but that is 1.2kg and bigger. Not the same..

If you do decide to go down the Dell track, check out the Dell NZ Factory Outlet. Their stock availability is sporadic but when they do have something the price is usually very good.

zero stock @ factory outlet.

$1888 at jb hifi for the 256gb i5.

the kirabook by toshiba is an alternative but not for the price. i7 configuration available only for $2400.

NZ has a very odd selection of laptops

Yeah there sure is stuff all small, light, good in NZ.

I ended up getting a way expensive HP spectre because it was the only QHD 13" that I could find. Had to then go and upgrade the wifi because a $2k+ machine came with crap 802.11n 2.4Ghz only in it.

The stock comes and goes in the factory outlet. It took a few weeks for one to be listed when I bought my Dell XPS, it was about $1200 when the normal price on the same model was closer to $2k so if you can wait a week or six it can be a good option.
