It's important to check out the manufacturer's website.

I'm guessing an HP/Compaq or an Acer?

If so:

its a toshiba, so should i be able to find something on their website?

i was expecting something to come with the laptop that i just had to send away, but i guess they want to make it as hard as possible to claim the cashback

Not really... it's a "limited time offer", and so obviously they won't be just slipping in notes into the cartons because the stock could be old or they launched the offer after they shipped it.

Toshiba's one is here.

You need to register at the web site shown below:

From: Toshiba ISD Redemptions
________________________________________
Promotions and Redemptions | Toshiba ISD Marketing | Toshiba (Australia)
Pty. Limited
Email: redemption@toshiba-tap.com |
Website: www.isd.toshiba.com.au/redemption

Once you have registered at that web site, you will need to post them some documents.  I received the following e-mail about 10 days after posting the documents:

This email is to confirm that we have received your posted documents. Your
online redemption claim has been validated and approved.

For cashback redemptions, your money order cheque will be issued under
your registered name and mailed by regular post to your registered
delivery address. For all other redemption items, this will be delivered
by regular post or a designated delivery carrier. Your claim will now be
processed for fulfilment and delivery. Allow approximately 45 working days
for processing. This does not include stock availability delays and
postage/delivery delays.

A few weeks ago, I received the Cash Back cheque from Toshiba after waiting about 2 months.

Good Luck!

It is retailers like these that had a hard time in Target not that long ago, about not explaining cashback procedures to customers.
Hopefully you get yours sorted in time, everyone has pointed you in the right direction here atleast.

I have a customer who had been waiting for a couple of Toshiba cashbacks since March!
In the end I gave up trying to contact Toshiba (calls and emails were never returned) and paid the customer myself.

Just last week I managed to finally get a response from Toahiba and they said that they would pay me instead of the customer and it would happen in the next pay cycle which is 3-4 weeks away!

Hopefully don't have the same problem with other customer's cashbacks.

Opinions are my own and not the views of my employer.
