Looking at the Lenovo Legion 7 AMD edition atm - haven't purchased a Lenovo laptop...ever, I've heard great things about the Thinkpad range, however they don't seem to have a model i've seen with fully upgradeable RAM (i'm going to upgrade to 64GB)

This Lenovo Legion 7 - 2022 edition, seems like excellent build quality, excellent specs, battery life seems to be double the intel version (i'm aware the intel 12th gen chips are far better in terms of performance), not worried about the lack of performance in terms of Ray Tracing.

Anyone had experience with their Legion range and able to provide some feedback? Also is Lenovo's warranty service any good? Dell has been excellent in the past, but the Dell XPS laptop is the only laptop i've ever owned where I had to have multiple callouts and replacements for various parts - the service was EXCELLENT but it was very frustrating nonetheless the numerous issues I faced with their stuff, so i'm a little hesitant to go with Dell again.

Specs are as follows

I have the Lenovo Legion 7i with core i9 and RTX3080. Loving it but it is heavy to lug around and the power brick is huge because of RTX3080.

Built wise is good for media editing etc. I don't game with it.

Ahh yes that version did look a bit heavier - the 300W power brick adds a lot of weight, but I imagine it's required to power that 3080. I have the option of getting the 230w power adapter which is much smaller, do you think it will be enough to power the 6700m?

Have had zero problems with it in a year. It really is a great laptop, at the time Lenovo were running a promo and nobody else could match same specs at that price.

To answer your question about USB-C charging, at the time I did some research and came to the conclusion that the laptop draws too much power.

One great resource is the Legion Pro channel on Discord - there is a lot of community support and advice there

Thanks! I'll definitely go and check that Discord - by additional power back you mean the 230W charger, vs the 300w one that comes with it?

Also it's worth mentioning the new Legion 7 according to my research can accept up to 135W Charging via USB-C - which makes it a lot more viable for charging on the go, usage will be at low-power on the GPU during that time, however I guess it's a nice way to pro-long battery life in terms of portability.

Yes, it's the 230w charger I bought for on-the-go charging.

The use case for our one is it's a student laptop being taken to lectures etc.

Back home it's gaming. So docked at home I preferred to use the full 300w charger.

On the move there are some things you'll want to look at for power savings - in particular the keyboard shortcut to drop the refresh rate to 60Hz which makes a big difference
