HI,

Having recently made the switch to fibre (as Mt Eden ADSL was so slow) we have had on-going issues with speed.

We opted for the 100/20 unlimited plan however since day 1 (4 weeks ago) our speed has been 20/20.

Chorus has been out and rewired tested the ONT, Spark has sent 3 modems and I have spent hours trying to get help from the help desk!

Spark have basically washed there hands of me and told me to get a new ISP (they suggested I change my plan to a 30/10??). Will I have the same problem elsewhere?

Am I going crazy? Should this be so difficult?

This forum is my final hope.

Hi,

I have tested both wired and WIFI, it makes no difference to the result.

Cheers

Just going right back to basics, have you tried another ethernet cable between the ONT and the Router?

Jasonp:

Yes, multiple cables.

Go and do a test on all three of the Spark Speedtest.net servers (through the speedtest.net main page and navigate to specifically shoose the Spark NZ servers in Akl, Wlg and Chc)... do the test, paste the results here and then send me privately your public IP address (as well as the time you ran the tests).

It would also help if you could send your account number/phone number. Have you tried a different computer or even using the speedtest client through a smartphone (Yes that will be wireless but wireless should get above 20Mbps if everything is relatively modern)

Cheers - N

Thanks,

I'll run the tests again and post the results tonight.

I'll send my details through to you  (thanks).

Yes, I have tried different PCs and mobiles, all with the same result (20/20).

Hi there, what was the resolution?

I too am in the area and looking to move to fibre due to similar reasons as yourself.

Good result, but, gee, why do we need 'divine intervention' to get obvious faults fixed??
